Conspicuously, "someone," a.k.a. yours truly :), needs to exercise some deep breathing in child'south pose, because "someone" spent the final five minutes obsessing over the name of this British makeup make: Models Own.
Models Ain. Hmm…
What does information technology mean?? What does it stand up for?? Do models ain the company?? Is it a metaphorical reference to models figuratively owning the runway? Does it hateful that you have to exist a professional model to rock the brand's products?? Good GRIEF, KAREN, Arctic.
Models Own hails from the Uk but recently touched downward on U.S. shores. They're bachelor exclusively at Ulta stores and online, with centre, face and lip products.
They've got some eye-catching colorful things, like the Colour Chrome Eyeshadow Palette (which we'll go to in a sec), and some neutral items, that range from $7.99-$19.99 each, placing them in the higher-end drugstore toll echelon, upwardly there with Sonia Kashuk and Pixi.
The Models and I… Well, we're off to a rocky offset.
My makeup-loving centre wanted to adore the $nineteen.99 Color Chrome Eyeshadow Palette, because the foam shadows — oh, gosh — they feel fabulously dumbo and flossy like the MAC Pigment Pots, which I love, simply are thinner, which I normally take as a good thing, considering information technology ordinarily implies easy to blend and layer.
I e'er desire to bring my Paint Pots with me wherever I go, but the clunky glass packaging discourages me. I had visions of gleefully scootin' around town with this palette of 10 cream shadows and basically ruling the state. Since the creams feel like to MAC'due south, I'd hoped they would dry out down completely, besides like the Paint Pots, simply alas… 'Twas not meant to be. They don't dry down at all.
They stay flossy and wet. Commonly, this is a look I'd be down for in a hot 2nd, because I don't mind cream shadows that motion a little. I really don't! I similar it when creamy lids await sorta rock 'n' ringlet, like you lot've been wearing your eye makeup for three days straight and take been having such a good time with the band that you lot can't fifty-fifty carp. I think it looks kinda cool. But this… Information technology's simply too messy.
The creams shift about immediately on my lids and take hold of some areas more than others. And don't even recollect nigh layering multiple creams (which is what I did in this eye look here), because within five minutes, everything is sloshed together into a big, hot mess.
Afterwards wearing this eye look for two hours, the shadow had all but disappeared. It was gone in what felt like the glimmer of an eye! So, yep. Non my favorite.
Even though things didn't become well for me and this palette, I still have high hopes for the brand's other products. Gonna keep my toes and fingers crossed that their neutral palette, Barely There, fares improve. Information technology gets very good reviews.
